2. Laparoscopy: This procedure involves making 3 to 4 very small incisions to insert laparoscopic instruments. A tube containing a small video camera and surgical tools is inserted into the abdomen. The surgeon removes the gallbladder by viewing a television screen.

When Is Gallbladder Removal Performed?
The gallbladder removal procedure can be performed in the following cases:
1. Presence of gallstones.
2. Swelling and inflammation of the gallbladder.

3. Cancer in the gallbladder.

  • How To Prepare for Gallbladder Removal?
  • Before the procedure, an abdominal ultrasound will be performed.
  • The patient will need to undergo blood and urine tests.
  • The patient may be required to sign a consent form, granting permission for the procedure. The form should be read carefully, and ask questions if anything is unclear.
  • The doctor will inquire about the patient’s medical history and may conduct a physical examination to ensure health suitability before performing the procedure.
  • The patient may be required not to eat or drink anything for 8 hours before the procedure.
